Crafting Stories in Leather

Arendal Leather Co.
Where Tradition Meets Timeless Craftsmanship

Rooted in Craft

Nestled on the island of Tromøy, just outside Arendal, our workshop hums with creativity and tradition. It’s here, in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, that we handcraft leather goods designed to last a lifetime. At Arendal Leather Co., we combine traditional techniques with sustainable practices, creating pieces that honor the rich history of our hometown—a place once known as the "Venice of the North."

We believe in products that last, hand-stitched to grow more beautiful with time

An Alternative to the Disposable

Founded by friends Marius Bodvin and Vidar Sirevåg, our journey began with a shared belief: that the world deserves an alternative to fast consumerism. Every product we make is stitched by hand using the saddle stitch, a time-honored method that ensures durability and beauty. This meticulous process allows our leather goods to age gracefully, with each scratch and mark becoming a chapter in the story of their owner’s life.

Ethically Sourced, Made to Endure

Tärnsjö Garveri

Our materials reflect our values. We source ethically produced leather from Tärnsjö Garveri in Sweden, a tannery with 150 years of experience in sustainable, vegetable-tanned leather. These hides are transformed into wallets, bags, and other timeless designs—each one minimal, functional, and made to be passed down through generations.
